Due to growing markets, a higher demand for construction products is created. The Atlas Copco Construction Tools production site in Kalmar invests to meet customer needs. The production facility in the south of Sweden is one of six manufacturing units within Atlas Copco Construction Tools. In Kalmar, small hydraulic attachments, handheld breakers, hammers and drills are produced. Atlas Copco Construction Tools has 185 employees in Kalmar.

The eagle owl is the biggest of all European owls. Although they used to be regarded as pests and were almost wiped out, populations have now recovered in many areas. Eagle owls are nocturnal and can live to be 30 years old. They mainly hunt mice, rats, hedgehogs, rabbits and, occasionaly fox cubs. They will also take pigeons, magpies, crows and birds of prey, and have hunting grounds of up to 40 km². As more and more land is developed, eagle owls are fi nding it hard to survive; the mortality rate in the first year is up to 60 %.
